Sheldon: What are you doing?
Mary: Oh, um... I'm just gonna be staying at Meemaw's a little bit longer.
Sheldon: Okay.
Mary: You all right?
Sheldon: No.
Mary: What's going on?
Sheldon: My database... I've- I've never failed like this before, and it frightens me.
Mary: Oh... sweetie, I'm sorry. Sometimes, no matter how much we want things to work out, they just don't. [hugs Sheldon]

Sheldon: Regardless, I'm not interested in making any more friends.
Mary: Oh, I don't think that's how you really feel.
Sheldon: It is. From now on, it's a hermit's life for me.
Mary: I bet, when you grow up, you will be surrounded by lots of smart, wonderful friends.
Sheldon: I can't see that happening.

Pastor Jeff: And now George's loving wife Mary would like to say a few words. Mary.
Mary: Thank you, Pastor Jeff. Um... [clears throat] I met George in high school. Well, I was in high school. He was an older man with a motorcycle. [light laughter] I'd like to tell you he caught my eye, but actually it was the motorcycle. [laughter] [voice breaking] I'm sorry, I can't... do this. I am... so angry. [sighs] George and I had our ups and downs, but we were finally in such a good place, and then he... left. [crying] He left all of us. I- How could you do that? [Meemaw stands up] I am so mad at him. I'm mad at God, I'm mad at myself for not trying harder while he was here. [Meemaw goes up to Mary] This wasn't supposed to happen. [Mary sobs] [Meemaw hugs Mary] [Georgie hugs a crying Missy]

Sheldon: Mom, when should I be expecting my testicles?
Woman: [turns around] What is wrong with him?
Mary: Nothing is wrong with him. Now turn around before I knock your lights out.
Sheldon: Hello.

Sheldon: Hello, Niblingo. Little nibling.
Mandy: What is it, Sheldon?
Sheldon: I was hoping I could try to calm your baby down.
Mandy: Why?
Sheldon: I'm trying new things to build up a tolerance for setbacks and frustration.
Mandy: So you want to use my child for some kind of experiment?
Sheldon: Yes.
Mandy: Okay, here you go.

Dr. John Sturgis: Hang on. Are you familiar with the Fred Astaire song "Pick Yourself Up"?
Sheldon: No.
Dr. John Sturgis: From the beloved musical Swing Time?
Sheldon: Still no.
Dr. John Sturgis: Then prepare to be uplifted. [sings] ♪ Nothing's impossible, I have found ♪ ♪ For when my chin is on the ground ♪ ♪ I pick myself up ♪ ♪ Dust myself off ♪ ♪ Start all over again ♪
Sheldon: I'm not uplifted.
Dr. John Sturgis: [talks] Well, then buckle up for the second verse. [sings] ♪ Don't lose your confidence if you slip ♪ ♪ Be grateful for a pleasant trip ♪ ♪ And pick yourself up ♪ ♪ Dust yourself off ♪ ♪ Start all over again. ♪

Adult Sheldon: The next day, as I walked across campus, I could feel all eyes were on me, judging me for my failure. Look at them laughing at me. It was the closest I ever came to a walk of shame.
