Young Sheldon Book

Young Sheldon: The Inside Story

Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw’s Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy is an upcoming behind-the-scenes book about Young Sheldon by entertainment journalist Jessica Radloff.

The book, due to be released on October 20, 2026, will take fans inside the making of the hit Big Bang Theory prequel, from its development and casting to its emotional final season and the stories behind some of the show’s most memorable episodes.

Written as an oral history, the book is based on extensive interviews with the show’s cast, creators, producers, writers and others involved with the series. Radloff spoke with the show’s main cast, including Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Annie Potts and Emily Osment, as well as guest stars including Mckenna Grace and Wallace Shawn.

Radloff’s book will explore how the show was conceived, the on-screen and off-screen family dynamics, some of the show’s more challenging storylines, and the ways the prequel diverged from The Big Bang Theory’s established history.

The book includes a foreword by Jim Parsons, who originated the role of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory and narrated Young Sheldon.

Jessica Radloff is an entertainment journalist who spent years covering television for Glamour magazine. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, an oral history of the original series. Radloff also hosts The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast, which looks back at the making of The Big Bang Theory.

In the United States, the book will be released on October 20, 2026 by Grand Central Publishing. It will be released November 5, 2026 in the United Kingdom. It is available to pre-order in hardcover, ebook and audiobook formats.
