Young Sheldon's second season returns to U.K.

The second season of Young Sheldon will return to U.K. screens later this month, E4 has announced. The channel aired the first seven episodes of the season last year.

Young Sheldon will return with new episodes on Thursday, January 31 at 20:30. In the next episode, "An 8-Bit Princess and a Flat Tire Genius",  Sheldon and Meemaw become addicted to video games, while Georgie sets off on the road to tire success when he takes a part-time job at Herschel Sparks' garage. Billy Gardell guest stars.

A return date for the final season of The Big Bang Theory, which airs alongside Young Sheldon on E4, has not yet been revealed.

A rerun of "A Financial Secret and Fish Sauce" will air next Thursday, January 24 as Young Sheldon takes a short break.

Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere) guest stars in this episode. Wallace Shawn (The Princess Bride, Clueless) reprises his role as Dr. John Sturgis.

“A Nuclear Reactor and a Boy Called Lovey” – Sheldon attempts to build a nuclear reactor. Also, a university cocktail party gets heated when Dr. Sturgis’ colleague, Dr. Linkletter (Ed Begley, Jr.), flirts with Meemaw, and Georgie is heartbroken when he learns Veronica (Isabel May) has a boyfriend, on YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Jan.17 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Young Sheldon will take a short break after this episode with a rerun of "A Financial Secret and Fish Sauce" airing on Thursday, January 24. The second season of Young Sheldon will continue Thursday, January 31 with "David, Goliath and a Yoo-hoo from the Back".

Zoe Perry and Annie Potts nominated for Critics' Choice Awards

Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry and Annie Potts have both been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category at the 2019 Critics' Choice Awards, it was announced today.

It's a family affair in the category as Zoe Perry's mother, Laurie Metcalf, is also nominated for her role as Jackie Harris on ABC's The Conners. The other nominees are Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Rita Moreno (One Day at a Time), and Miriam Shor (Younger).

The winners will be revealed Sunday, January 13 when the 24th Critics' Choice Awards ceremony is broadcast live on The CW Network.

The Big Bang Theory time warp: Young Sheldon cast to appear in December episode

In a spacetime-bending surprise, Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage, Lance Barber and Montana Jordan are set to briefly guest star in an upcoming episode of the parent show, The Big Bang Theory.

CBS is tight-lipped about how the Young Sheldon characters Sheldon, George Sr. and George Jr. will feature in the modern-day world of The Big Bang Theory.

The Big Bang Theory recently explored what became of Sheldon and Tam's friendship with Robert Wu guest starring as adult Tam, while Jerry O'Connell was introduced as grown-up Georgie last season.

The Young Sheldon crossover episode is set to air in December. The Big Bang Theory is now in its twelfth and final season on CBS.

Following this episode, Young Sheldon will be taking a break over Thanksgiving. A rerun of "Jiu-jitsu, Bubble Wrap and Yoo-hoo" will air Thursday, November 22. The show will be back with new episodes on December 6.
