CBS has released the synopsis for the first Young Sheldon episode in the new year, "College Dropouts and the Medford Miracle", which airs Thursday, January 5.

Wallace Shawn (Dr. Sturgis), Dave Foley (Gary), Doc Farrow (Coach Wilkins), Rex Linn (Principal Petersen), Dan Byrd (Pastor Rob), Brian Stepanek (Mr. Givens) and Sarah Baker (Ms. Hutchins) all return in the episode.

College Dropouts and the Medford Miracle - Sheldon considers dropping out of college to focus on building his database. Also, George Sr. is frustrated when someone else gets credit for his football wins, on YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Jan. 5 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*.

The last original episode of 2022,"Legalese and a Whole Hoo-Ha", airs tonight before Young Sheldon takes a break over the Christmas/New Year holidays. The show is pre-empted next Thursday, December 15, but a rerun of "Future Worf and the Margarita of the South Pacific" will air the following Thursday, December 22, and "Snoopin' Around and the Wonder Twins of Atheism" will be rebroadcast on December 29.
