Young Sheldon book coming later this year

A new behind-the-scenes book about Young Sheldon by entertainment journalist Jessica Radloff is set to be published later this year.

Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw’s Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy will take fans inside the making of The Big Bang Theory prequel, from its development to its emotional final season and the stories behind some of the show’s most memorable episodes.

Written as an oral history, the book is based on over 200 hours of interviews with the show’s entire cast, writers and producers, including co-creators Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, along with guest stars such as Wallace Shawn and Mckenna Grace.

The book will explore how Young Sheldon was conceived, the family dynamic that developed between the cast and crew behind the scenes, the sensitive subjects the show tackled, and how the prequel both built on and sometimes diverged from The Big Bang Theory’s established history.

Jim Parsons, who originated the role of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory and narrated and executive produced Young Sheldon, has written the book’s foreword.

Radloff previously wrote The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, an oral history chronicling the making of the original show and its rise to become one of television’s biggest comedies. She also hosts The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast for HBO Max.

Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw’s Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy will be released in the United States on October 20, 2026, and in the United Kingdom on November 5, 2026, by Grand Central Publishing. The book is available to pre-order now in hardcover, ebook and audiobook formats.
