CBS has released the synopsis for the October 10 episode of Young Sheldon's upcoming third season, "An Entrepreneurialist and a Swat on the Bottom".

Ed Begley, Jr. returns as Dr. Linkletter in the episode. Ryan Phuong (Tam) and Isabel May (Veronica) also reprise their roles.

An Entrepreneurialist and a Swat on the Bottom - Sheldon takes matters into his own hands when Meemaw refuses to drive him to a lecture with Dr. Linkletter (Ed Begley, Jr.). Also, Georgie tries to impress Veronica with his new business venture, on YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Oct. 10 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The third season premiere of Young Sheldon, "Quirky Eggheads and Texas Snow Globes", airs this Thursday, September 26 at the new time of 8/7c on CBS.

CBS has released the synopsis for the second episode of Young Sheldon's third season, "A Broom Closet and Satan's Monopoly Board", which airs Thursday, October 3.

Ed Begley, Jr. returns as Dr. Linkletter in the episode. Ryan Phuong (Tam), Nancy Linehan Charles (Peg), Valerie Mahaffey (Ms. Macelroy), Danielle Pinnock (Ms. Ingram), Brian Stepanek (Mr. Givens) and Doc Farrow (Coach Wilkins) all reprise their roles in the episode.

A Broom Closet and Satan's Monopoly Board – Without Dr. Sturgis' university class, Sheldon must find a new way to stay academically challenged. Also, Mary helps Pastor Jeff avoid temptation with his girlfriend, on YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Oct. 3 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Craig T. Nelson lands recurring role on Young Sheldon

Craig T. Nelson (Coach, Parenthood) will have a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Young Sheldon, Deadline.com has reported.

In a nod to his most famous role, Nelson will be playing Coach Dale Ballard, a Little League baseball coach who has a disagreement with George when Missy wants to join the team.

Nelson is best known for his Emmy-award winning role as Hayden Fox, coach of a university football team, on the ABC sitcom Coach, which ran from 1989-1997. More recently, Nelson starred in the family drama series Parenthood, which ran for six seasons on NBC.

Nelson's character will be introduced in the sixth episode of the upcoming season. Young Sheldon returns for its third season on Thursday, September 26 at 8/7c on CBS.

CBS announces third season premiere

CBS has released the synopsis for the upcoming third season premiere of Young Sheldon, "Quirky Eggheads and Texas Snow Globes", which airs Thursday, September 26.

Young Sheldon will be moving to the 8/7c time period previously occupied by The Big Bang Theory, which wrapped its twelve-season run on CBS in May.

Sarah Baker reprises her role as Ms. Hutchins and John Hartman returns as Dr. Goetsch in the season premiere. Matt Hobby, who plays Pastor Jeff, has been promoted to a series regular for the third season.

Quirky Eggheads and Texas Snow Globes – After Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn) experiences a nervous breakdown, Mary worries Sheldon is headed down a similar path. Also, Georgie discovers he has a knack for sales, on the third season premiere of YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Sept. 26 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Young Sheldon was renewed for a third season as part of a two season deal in February 2019, taking the show through to its fourth season in 2020/21.

CBS announces fall premiere dates

CBS has announced its fall premiere dates for the upcoming 2019/20 season, including the return of Young Sheldon.

The third season of Young Sheldon will premiere Thursday, September 26 at the new time of 8/7c. The show is inheriting the time period vacated by The Big Bang Theory, which recently concluded its twelve-season run on CBS.

A new single-camera comedy, The Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins (Justified) will folow Young Sheldon on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c.The seventh season of Mom, from Young Sheldon co-creator Chuck Lorre, will air at 9/8c. Carol's Second Act, a new multi-camera sitcom starring Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond, The Middle), rounds out the comedy block at 9:30/8:30c. New drama series Evil finishes the night off at 10/9c.

Elsewhere on CBS's fall schedule, a new Chuck Lorre sitcom, Bob (Hearts) Abishola, starring recurring Young Sheldon guest star Billy Gardell (Mike & Molly), will air Mondays at 8:30/7:30c.

Young Sheldon returns Thursday, September 26 at 8/7c on CBS.

Young Sheldon cast to appear at Aussie awards show

The cast of Young Sheldon will be taking a trip down under later this month as they walk the red carpet at Australia's Logie Awards.

Iain Armitage, who plays child genius Sheldon Cooper on the show, will be joined his co-stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan and Raegan Revord at the event.

The highlight of the Australian entertainment calendar, the TV Week Logie Awards are in their sixty-first year and take place on Australia's Gold Coast.

In Australia, the 61st TV Week Logie Awards at The Star Gold Coast will be broadcast on Channel Nine on Sunday, June 30 at 7pm.

Matt Hobby promoted to series regular on Young Sheldon

When Young Sheldon returns for its third season this fall, the Cooper family will be seeing more of their local pastor.

According to Deadline.com, Matt Hobby, who has appeared in thirteen episodes as Pastor Jeff, has been upped to a series regular.

Matt Hobby's other acting credits include recurring roles on Boardwalk Empire, Hart of Dixie, and The Grinder.

Young Sheldon has been renewed for another two seasons by CBS. The show will be taking the Thursday 8/7c time period of The Big Bang Theory, which recently concluded its twelve-season run, when the third season premieres this fall.

Young Sheldon's second season goes out with a bang

The second season finale of Young Sheldon delivered the show's best ratings of the season last night, airing after the hour-long series finale of The Big Bang Theory.

"A Swedish Science Thing and the Equation for Toast" was watched by 13.60 million people, Young Sheldon's biggest audience since January 11, 2018. The show set a 2.1 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, its best performance since the first season finale on May 10, 2018.

Young Sheldon was by far the most-watched and highest-rated program in its time period. For the night overall, Young Sheldon was second only to The Big Bang Theory.
