Young Sheldon renewed for a second season
CBS has renewed Young Sheldon for a second season, making it the network's first renewal for the 2018/19 season.
Young Sheldon is the most-watched new comedy to premiere on any network in eighteen years with an average of 16.17 million viewers and a 3.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. The show is the #2 comedy on TV, behind only The Big Bang Theory.
Discussing the decision to renew Young Sheldon, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said "YOUNG SHELDON has made a huge impact on our schedule in the short time it's been on the air. While the show's DNA is clearly rooted in THE BIG BANG THEORY, YOUNG SHELDON has staked out its own place in the TV universe with a unique creative tone, brilliant writing and a gifted multi-generational cast. We can't wait to see Chuck, Steve, Jim and Todd's vision for how the Cooper family deals with Sheldon growing a year older... and smarter."
