CBS announces season premiere dates

CBS has announced the season premiere dates for its scripted content, including Young Sheldon, following the recent conclusion of the actors' strike and the writers strike that preceded it.

With the writers' strike extending into October and the actors' strike lasting until November, most shows are expected to produce only 10 to 13 episodes this season, short of the typical 22 to 24 episodes of a regular season.

CBS will launch its scripted programs in mid-February, following the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast on Sunday, February 11. After the Super Bowl, the series premiere of Tracker will debut. This new drama series stars Justin Hartley as a survivalist who traverses the country, using his expert tracking skills to solve mysteries for rewards.

Young Sheldon will return with its seventh season premiere on Thursday, February 15 at 8/7c. This will be followed by the third season premiere of Ghosts at 8:30. The second season of So Help Me Todd will premiere at 9/8c, with a repeat of the Tracker premiere scheduled for its regular time slot at 10/9c on Thursdays.

Young Sheldon has not been renewed beyond its seventh season. Executive producer Steve Holland had previously mentioned that there were discussions about whether Young Sheldon would conclude this season. Back in March, Holland recognised that the prospect of strikes meant they might not have as many episodes to tell all the stories they wish to tell this season.
