Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage

Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is a Young Sheldon spin-off that follows newlyweds Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas.

Like The Big Bang Theory, the show is filmed in front of a live studio audience, marking a shift back to the traditional multi-camera sitcom style after Young Sheldon’s single-camera approach.

Plot

Set shortly after the events of Young Sheldon, the series finds Georgie and Mandy living with her parents, Jim and Audrey McAllister, as they adjust to married life and care for their daughter, CeeCee. Georgie is working at Jim’s tire shop, while Mandy settles into motherhood and considers a return to the workplace.

The show features guest appearances from familiar Young Sheldon characters including Mary, Missy and Meemaw.

Cast

The show sees Montana Jordan and Emily Osment return as Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister. Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones reprise their Young Sheldon roles as Mandy’s parents, Jim and Audrey McAllister. Dougie Baldwin plays Mandy’s younger brother, Connor, and Jessie Prez joins the cast as Ruben, an employee at Jim’s tire shop.

Several members of the Young Sheldon cast guest starred in the spin-off so far, including Zoe Perry (Mary), Raegan Revord (Missy), Annie Potts (Meemaw), Craig T. Nelson (Dale), Sarah Baker (Ms. Hutchins) and Matt Hobby (Pastor Jeff). Lance Barber reprised his role as George Sr. in a dream sequence.

Development History

Reports of a Young Sheldon spin-off first emerged in early 2024 as CBS began developing a new sitcom focused on Georgie and Mandy. The project was officially ordered to series in March 2024, with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment confirmed to return.

The title Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage was announced in May 2024, ahead of its October premiere.

Broadcast History

Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage premiered on October 17, 2024, airing Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS, a time slot previously held by Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory. Within two weeks of airing, the series received a full-season order, bringing the first season to 22 episodes.

In February 2025, CBS renewed the series for a second season, which will premiere on October 16, 2025, maintaining the same Thursday night time period.
