Young Sheldon to stream on HBO Max

Young Sheldon will be joining the new HBO Max streaming service, alongside all twelve seasons of the show's progenitor, The Big Bang Theory.

HBO Max, which launched this week, is a new streaming service from WarnerMedia featuring television and motion picture content from Warner's vast library. The service is the exclusive streaming home of both The Big Bang Theory and Friends, two of the biggest sitcoms of the past few decades. The service also features content from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TNT, TBS, and truTV.

The streaming service also features movies from WarnerMedia's library, spanning over 100 years of the most iconic films, including CasablancaThe Wizard of OzThe GooniesThe Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Lego movies, and every DC film from the past decade.

Young Sheldon, which last month concluded its third season, has so far produced 65 episodes. Like The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon had not been licensed to a streaming service until this point. A date for the show's arrival on the platform was not announced.

“We now feel like our Big Bang offering is complete,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer, HBO Max, president TNT, TBS, and TruTV. “We are so proud to be the home of this beloved franchise and the place where new and existing fans can learn about young Sheldon Cooper’s roots.”

“In order for Sheldon Cooper to visit his younger self, he would need to manipulate spacetime. All you actually need is HBO Max,” said Young Sheldon creators Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. “We are so pleased that Young Sheldon will once again be reunited with his future self on HBO Max, and we are excited for fans, new and old, to be able to binge both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon for the first time.”
