CBS has released the synopsis for the first Young Sheldon episode of 2020, "A Live Chicken, a Fried Chicken and Holy Matrimony", which airs January 9.

Melissa Peterman (Baby Daddy, Reba) returns as Brenda Sparks in the episode.

"A Live Chicken, a Fried Chicken and Holy Matrimony" - George Sr. and Meemaw struggle to manage the Cooper household while Mary plans Pastor Jeff's (Matt Hobby) wedding, on YOUNG SHELDON, Thursday, Jan. 9 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Following tomorrow's new episode of Young Sheldon, "Teenager Soup and a Little Ball of Fib", the show will be taking a break over the Christmas and New Year holidays. A rerun of "A Loaf of Bread and a Grand Old Flag" will air December 19, a rerun of "A Broken Heart and a Crock Monster" airs December 26, and a rerun of "Quirky Eggheads and Texas Snow Globes" will air January 2, 2020.
