Young Sheldon is taking a break during the Christmas and New Year holidays. A rerun of "Gluons, Guacamole, and the Color Purple" will air this Thursday, December 13. A rebroadcast of "A High-Pitched Buzz and Training Wheels" airs December 20 and there's a repeat of "A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron" on December 27.

Zoe Perry and Annie Potts nominated for Critics' Choice Awards

Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry and Annie Potts have both been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category at the 2019 Critics' Choice Awards, it was announced today.

It's a family affair in the category as Zoe Perry's mother, Laurie Metcalf, is also nominated for her role as Jackie Harris on ABC's The Conners. The other nominees are Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Rita Moreno (One Day at a Time), and Miriam Shor (Younger).

The winners will be revealed Sunday, January 13 when the 24th Critics' Choice Awards ceremony is broadcast live on The CW Network.

"A Stunted Childhood and a Can of Fancy Mixed Nuts" - When Sheldon learns that people with stunted childhoods can turn into social outcasts, he tries to act like a kid. This will be the last original episode of Young Sheldon for 2018 as the show takes a break over the Christmas and New Year holidays. The show's second season will return with new episodes in January 2019.

The Big Bang Theory time warp: Young Sheldon cast to appear in December episode

In a spacetime-bending surprise, Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage, Lance Barber and Montana Jordan are set to briefly guest star in an upcoming episode of the parent show, The Big Bang Theory.

CBS is tight-lipped about how the Young Sheldon characters Sheldon, George Sr. and George Jr. will feature in the modern-day world of The Big Bang Theory.

The Big Bang Theory recently explored what became of Sheldon and Tam's friendship with Robert Wu guest starring as adult Tam, while Jerry O'Connell was introduced as grown-up Georgie last season.

The Young Sheldon crossover episode is set to air in December. The Big Bang Theory is now in its twelfth and final season on CBS.

Following this episode, Young Sheldon will be taking a break over Thanksgiving. A rerun of "Jiu-jitsu, Bubble Wrap and Yoo-hoo" will air Thursday, November 22. The show will be back with new episodes on December 6.

Young Sheldon returns to UK's E4 in November

The second season of Young Sheldon will premiere in the United Kingdom next month, digital broadcaster E4 has announced.

E4 will start airing the sophomore season of Young Sheldon on Thursday, November 8 at 20:30. In the show's second season premiere, "A High-Pitched Buzz and Training Wheels", Sheldon gets a paper route after his attempt to dismantle the family's refrigerator leaves them struggling to pay an unexpected repair bill.

New episodes of The Big Bang Theory's twelfth and final season are currently airing at 20:30 on E4's Thursday night schedule, but the show will move ahead to 20:00 slot when Young Sheldon returns on November 8.
